About the Role
At Moody's, we unite the brightest minds to turn today’s risks into tomorrow’s opportunities by fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome to be themselves—with the freedom to exchange ideas, think innovatively, and listen meaningfully to each other and our customers. Moody’s is transforming how the world sees risk. As a global leader in ratings and integrated risk assessment, we are advancing AI to move from insight to action—enabling intelligence that understands complexity and responds to it. We decode risk to unlock opportunity, helping clients navigate uncertainty with clarity, speed, and confidence.
In this role, you will lead credit analysis and research for UK sub-sovereign issuers, initially focusing on housing associations. You will analyse audited financial statements, business plans, sector developments and other issuer-specific information to assess credit quality. You will monitor developments affecting assigned credits and maintain a strong understanding of relevant accounting, regulatory, economic and sector trends. You will present clear, well-supported and forward-looking recommendations at rating committees in line with applicable methodologies and produce high-quality research on issuers, sector trends and key credit themes affecting UK sub-sovereign entities.
You will build and maintain effective relationships with issuers, investors, government representatives and other external stakeholders, representing Moody’s externally through meetings, investor briefings, conferences and outreach activities. Collaboration with regional and global colleagues to support consistent analytical standards and knowledge sharing is essential. Additionally, you will coach junior colleagues and support the delivery of analytical work, research and portfolio management activities while completing documentation, reporting and compliance-related activities accurately and in line with internal standards.
The Sovereign and Sub-Sovereign Risk Group covers a range of sectors including housing associations, universities, regional and local governments, nonprofits and transport. By joining the team, you will contribute independent, high-quality credit analysis that helps market participants understand public sector and sub-sovereign risk. You will also have the opportunity to leverage innovative analytical tools, including artificial intelligence capabilities, to enhance research processes, improve efficiency, identify emerging credit trends, and support more informed risk assessment.
Our team increasingly leverages AI tools to streamline research workflows and enhance operational efficiency. Team members are encouraged to explore AI-powered solutions responsibly, maintaining strong analytical judgment, effective risk management, and adherence to Moody's standards of quality and integrity.
