About the Role
Join us at Raffles London at The OWO, a landmark Grade II* Edwardian building on Whitehall, where luxury, glamour, and extraordinary experiences come together. As Bar Supervisor at The Spy Bar, you will lead and take responsibility for the bar department, including food, bar, and beverage service. You will ensure the department is fully prepared for service, oversee opening and closing duties, and work closely with the bar team to produce and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to the highest Raffles standards.
Your role involves leading, mentoring, and supporting the bar team, delivering exceptional service from the moment guests arrive until they leave, and enhancing their experience with us. You will collaborate with bar management to develop, create, and implement seasonal menus and specials, ensuring all offerings meet budget and quality expectations.
Key responsibilities include comprehensive knowledge of the menu and products served, rapid and accurate delivery of food and beverage orders with clear explanations, assisting floor staff with table settings, restocking bar and back-of-house areas, preparing cocktails, wines, spirits, and soft drinks, and maintaining professional and knowledgeable guest interactions. You will also ensure food safety standards are met, communicate customer feedback to staff, and commit to sustainable practices in waste management and purchasing.
In the absence of the line manager or senior employee, you will assume additional responsibilities and may be required to work in different departments or restaurants as needed.
Health and safety is paramount; you will be expected to report and rectify hazards immediately, be fully conversant with fire, emergency, and bomb procedures, and promote a culture of safety awareness within the department.
Experience
A proven track record of providing high levels of service under pressure is essential. Previous experience within a luxury hotel environment working with LQA, Forbes 5* or equivalent standards is desirable.
About you
Exceptional communication and customer service skills, both written and spoken. Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask while maintaining an immaculate and professional appearance. A willingness to contribute to a 24-hour operational schedule when required. You should be a natural leader, able to mentor and support your team effectively.
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications are advantageous but not explicitly stated. A commitment to excellence, integrity, respect, and empowerment aligned with Raffles values is expected.
