We are seeking a Building Safety Consultant to advance their career within a world-leading architecture, design, and engineering consultancy.
This role involves working with a diverse range of clients within the built environment to support Arcadis design teams as Principal Designer in achieving compliance with Building Regulations, including successful Higher Risk Buildings Gateway 2 applications. Projects span multiple sectors including healthcare, residential, education, data centres, industrial, commercial, retail, office, leisure, and custodial.
The position has been created due to securing a wide range of exciting projects requiring support following changes to the Building Regulations and Building Control Regime. Responsibilities include providing Building Regulations Advisory Services and delivering the Principal Designer role under the Building Regulations framework.
Arcadis has an established process for supporting clients on Building Safety Act requirements and seeks additional expertise in building regulations and building control. This role is ideal for candidates with several years of Building Control experience interested in applying their expertise in a consulting and advisory environment. Strong interpersonal skills are essential as the role combines client-facing and technical delivery.

Experience
Minimum 5 years' experience delivering design or building control services. Experience in Residential and/or Healthcare (HTM/HBN) preferred. Proven knowledge of Building Regulations, Building Safety Act 2022, Design and Construction Processes, and design codes. Background in architecture, design/engineering, or building control. Experience delivering the CDM 2015 or Building Regulations Principal Designer role is advantageous but not essential.

Able to achieve and maintain BPSS and Security Check (SC).
Qualifications
Degree in Building Surveying, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related design field. Candidates must either have a design background and hold CABE Building Safety certificate or equivalent; or be a building control professional registered through BICoF (Class 2F or Class 3) or demonstrate equivalent knowledge. Membership with CABE, RICS, RIBA, CIAT, or CIOB is preferred. BICoF Class 3 registration is preferred.
