About the Role
Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust is one of the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts, providing a full range of hospital and community services across south London and specialist care for patients from further afield. The Trust is home to the largest dental school in Europe and a £160 million Cancer Centre opened in 2016. It also includes Evelina London Children’s Hospital and has one of the largest critical care units and busiest emergency departments in the UK. In 2021, the Royal Brompton and Harefield joined the Trust, enhancing expertise in heart and lung disease care and research.

The Cancer Improvement Manager will join a small team working across the South East London Cancer Alliance (SELCA) portfolio, specifically leading the delivery of the Early Diagnosis Programme. This role involves close collaboration with the Early Diagnosis Senior Programme Manager, Deputy Programme Manager, the wider SELCA team, and system partners to implement projects supporting national early diagnosis targets and reducing inequalities in cancer care across South East London.

Key priorities include supporting SELCA’s agenda to ensure equitable care, scoping and implementing new projects, and working with clinicians and managers to enhance patient experience and service delivery. The role requires strong project management, stakeholder engagement, and risk management skills to oversee multiple projects and ensure successful delivery of objectives.

SELCA provides clinical, operational, and transformational leadership to the local health system, working with key members such as the SEL Integrated Care System, primary care, provider networks, NHS trusts, patient/public representatives, and charities. The vision is to improve access, clinical outcomes, patient experience, and quality of life for the population of South East London based on national and international standards.

The Trust is committed to delivering high quality, safe, and efficient care with a motivated and engaged workforce, and supports flexible working arrangements to promote a healthy work-life balance.
