About the Role
Guy’s and St Thomas’ is among the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts, providing a full range of hospital and community services for people in south London. We are seeking a proactive and experienced Category Manager to lead procurement initiatives across a designated portfolio within Estates, Facilities, and Corporate Services (EFCS). You will manage a delegated category, which includes frameworks and Dynamic Purchasing Systems (DPS), delivering strategic sourcing projects that generate measurable value for our NHS members. Main Duties of the Job
- Developing and delivering category strategy and savings work plans.
- Leading complex procurement and sourcing projects end to end.
- Ensuring compliance with public procurement legislation, NHS England strategies, and UK law.
- Driving value for money through process improvement and total cost of ownership modelling.
- Providing expert guidance and innovative solutions to procurement challenges.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
- Supporting the continuous improvement of procurement practices.
- Acting as a role model, promoting professional excellence and best practice.

Experience
- Senior specialist commercial/industry experience in procurement and supply in a senior management role.
- Significant senior procurement experience.
- Significant experience & understanding and application of strategic sourcing methodologies.
About You
- Strong people management skills with the ability to manage, influence, and lead people who may or may not be direct reports.
- Excellent time management skills to manage and prioritize project activities and the workload of the Business Unit.
Qualifications
- Essential: Registered full Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) and educated to degree level and above or equivalent in-depth experience.
- Desirable: Project Management (Prince 2 Practitioner).
