Guy’s and St Thomas’ is among the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts. Guy’s is home to the largest dental school in Europe and a £160 million Cancer Centre opened in 2016. As part of our commitment to provide care closer to home, in 2017 we also opened a cancer centre and a kidney treatment centre at Queen Mary’s Hospital in Sidcup. St Thomas’ has one of the largest critical care units in the UK and one of the busiest emergency departments in London. It is also home to Evelina London Children’s Hospital. Evelina London cares for local children in Lambeth and Southwark and provides specialist services across south east England including cardiac, renal and critical care services. We lead a number of specialist service networks aiming to ensure children are treated locally where possible, but have access to specialist expertise when they need it. Our community services include health visiting, school nursing and support for families of children with long-term conditions. Our adult community services teams deliver care at the heart of the local communities we serve, working in partnership with GPs, local authorities and other healthcare and voluntary sector organisations. Working with our partners in Lambeth and Southwark, we are focusing on new ways of working to improve care for local patients. In February 2021 the Royal Brompton and Harefield joined Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, bringing together world-leading expertise in the care and research of heart and lung disease. Our merger provides a once in a generation opportunity to build a lasting, world-renowned heart and lung centre, providing the highest quality care for patients and conducting world-leading research. We have a reputation for clinical excellence and high quality teaching and research. We are part of King’s Health Partners, one of eight accredited UK academic health sciences centres. In partnership with King’s College London we have dedicated clinical research facilities including an MHRA accredited Phase I clinical trials unit. Job overview This role plays a key part in implementing the NHS LPP vision & strategy, approved by the NHS LPP Steering Board, Supporting the Workforce Category team in delivering the aspiration of the Board to become a world-class procurement partner of choice for the NHS and the wider public sector Main duties of the job Prioritise work in relation to overall strategic framework of NHS LPP and its relationship to the NHS Operating Framework. Make commercial decisions and present plans and recommendations to key decision-makers and influencers at senior management level Gather and assemble data to form the baseline and spend data to inform procurement strategy and priorities within the category. Analyses and integrates highly complex data from several sources to inform the category strategy Support the delivery of Workforce related projects Working for our organisation Please note that as an organisation NHS LPP has been hosted by Guy’s & St Thomas’ (GSTT) NHS Foundation Trust since 2012 and provides the legal framework and supporting services under which NHS LPP operates. However, NHS LPP is a membership organisation funded and governed by its members and not GSTT. NHS LPP staff are employed by GSTT. Detailed job description and main responsibilities Support the delivery of the Procurement Strategy, research needs and complexities, plans and develop a viable business case for the pursuance of procurement projects in line with defined priorities for service improvement. To implement procurement strategy and lead on assigned areas of the strategic plan and ensure that performance management systems are focused and utilised effectively to create the business case, meet governance requirements and achieve goals. Ensures that local, regional and national procurement plans are integrated with category management. Support the delivery of Workforce related projects, works planned and stakeholder requirements, to drive best value and savings opportunites across the market. Align to NHSE Agency Rules objectives across the Workforce space. To consistently meet procurement targets relating to quality, value and innovation.
