As a Commercial Consultancy Manager in the Utilities Sector, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of the business area, supporting pre-contract and operational phases, managing commercial risk and opportunity, ensuring accuracy of forecasts, and adhering to all commercial reporting procedures. You will support project delivery by providing pre-award, procurement, and post-award contract administration support, monitor compliance with contract obligations, and drive value from the supply chain. You will provide a "cradle to grave" commercial function for all work packages within the commission.

Your responsibilities will include providing post-contract commercial management and pre-contract activity within the project delivery team’s scope, offering specialist commercial advice and guidance to mitigate risks, administering building contract terms, cost control and reporting, preparing financial reports, managing cost forecasting and anticipated final costs, identifying costs related to design changes, contract awards, construction activities and client charges, evaluating claims for delay and additional costs, advising on certificates of practical completion, negotiating final accounts, identifying commercial risk and claim events, producing commercial correspondence and contractual notices, ensuring proper retention and archiving of commercial records, and undertaking final account settlements and internal reconciliation to project close-out within agreed timescales.

Requirements

Experience
Proven experience working in the construction or utilities sector managing projects. Essential experience with NEC form of contract. Knowledge of contract law and contractual frameworks relating to construction. Sound ability to undertake and advise on Contract Administration. Experience in management disciplines including value management, programme development and monitoring to ensure delivery against key milestone targets.

About you
Strong sense of responsibility and ownership. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to create, manage and maintain relationships, communicating effectively with clients and peers up to director level.

Qualifications
Degree in Quantity Surveying preferred or other commercially related discipline. NEC PM Accreditation is desired.
