About the Role
Mace combines construction expertise with consultancy to unlock potential in every person or project and redefine the boundaries of ambition. In our Cities and Places sector, we shape everything from homes and schools to major Ministry of Justice programmes, offices, and retail-led commercial developments. Working with government and private-sector clients, we create spaces that genuinely improve how people live, work, and connect – building stronger, healthier, and more resilient communities.

These ambitions come with challenges such as tight budgets, funding pressures, complex stakeholder needs, sustainability demands, and the constant need to adapt at pace. At Mace, navigating these challenges is what we do best. We bring flexibility, adaptability, and deep technical expertise to programme and project delivery, partnering closely with clients to understand their needs and deliver outcomes that matter.

Through cutting-edge technology, modern construction techniques, and a relentless focus on social value, we help deliver projects that meet today’s requirements while supporting long-term goals. Projects that stand the test of time and create thriving, future-proofed communities.

As a Cost Consultant, you will be responsible for delivering client-focused outcomes through effective cost planning, procurement, and achievement of strategic KPIs. You will uphold integrity by managing ethically viable operations and driving the net zero carbon transition. Your role will include creating opportunity by mentoring teams, championing innovation, and embedding continuous improvement across all activities.

You will manage feasibility studies, procurement strategies, and contract selection, ensuring effective reporting and compliance. Additionally, you will oversee estimating, cost planning, valuations, and present accurate financial reports to stakeholders. Managing contracts, claims, and completion processes to drive successful project outcomes will also be key responsibilities.

Mentoring teams, embedding continuous improvement, and championing net zero carbon transition across all delivery activities are essential aspects of this role.

Mace is an inclusive employer and welcomes interest from a diverse range of candidates. Even if you feel you do not fulfil all the criteria, please apply as you may still be the best candidate for this role or another role within our organisation. We are also open to discussing part-time, flexible, and hybrid working options if suitable within the role.
