About the Role
Guy’s and St Thomas’ is among the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts, providing a full range of hospital and community services for people in south London and specialist care for patients from further afield. This role is to assist the Creditor Payments Manager with the day-to-day management and supervision of the Creditor Payments Department. You will supervise and manage key processes and controls within the Payments team, ensuring the prompt and accurate processing and payment of supplier invoices. Additionally, you will manage queries from suppliers and budget holders, providing and receiving complex information regarding amounts owed by the Trust.

Requirements

Experience
Experience working at supervisor level in a large Accounts Payable department with a good understanding of operational procedures required to operate an invoice payment system for a high invoice volume, multi-site operation. Proven experience of staff supervision and training of creditor payments clerks is essential.

About you
You will possess specialist knowledge and expertise in the Creditor Payments function, with persuasive and motivational skills to manage difficult situations. A good working knowledge of NHS VAT rules and the Procure to Pay process is required. You should be self-motivated, highly organized, and able to build effective working relationships.

Qualifications
Professional Accountancy Qualifications or equivalent experience is essential. A degree or equivalent experience, along with an ECDL qualification or equivalent experience, is also required.
