About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists to join the Capability Assessment space team within Defence Intelligence (DI). You will work alongside a high-performing team focused on understanding adversary threats from and to the space domain, supporting a wide range of customers across Defence and Whitehall.

Defence Intelligence is a world-class organisation supporting policy and decision-making at the heart of the Ministry of Defence and the national security community. Our people solve problems, create understanding, and provide perspective on complex Defence threats in a rapidly changing world. DI works closely with partners across Defence, government departments, intelligence agencies, and assessment bodies.

This role is one of four MOD Civil Service positions responsible for assessing foreign space-related threat systems, including their terrestrial support infrastructure. The Space Team is divided into space utilisation and counterspace capabilities; this role sits within the counterspace team with a focus on electronic warfare capabilities.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a technical or programme analysis background seeking to broaden strategic awareness, leadership, and communication skills. It also suits experienced intelligence analysts wishing to expand their knowledge within Defence Intelligence Capability Assessment, particularly in the space domain.

The post holder will produce high-quality all-source intelligence assessments, maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders including academia and industry, and undertake national and international travel. The role requires a proactive, self-driven, scientifically curious individual with excellent presentation, communication, organisational, and teamworking skills.

The Ministry of Defence promotes diversity and inclusion, offers flexible working arrangements, and is committed to creating an inclusive workplace free from discrimination.
