We are seeking a Design Manager with experience in the Defence or Technology sectors to join the Design Project Management team within the Arcadis Places Design Practice. This role involves guiding both internal and external design teams to meet client scope while balancing budget, resources, and timescales. You will work closely with the Arcadis Project Manager and engage positively with clients and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include facilitating meetings and workshops, identifying design and project risks throughout the project lifecycle, and coordinating design activities with procurement, planning, environmental, construction, and operations teams. You will provide leadership and direction to ensure high-quality design decisions and successful project outcomes.

Experience
Previous experience within the Defence and/or Technology sectors is desirable. Ideally, you will have prior Design Management experience within a Client or Consultancy environment. Knowledge and experience of BIM-led design and Autodesk suite of products is essential.

About you
You should have strong integration, stakeholder, and communication management skills. The ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities and to manage complex multi-disciplinary engineering problems is important. Excellent written English and technical report writing skills are essential. You will use interpersonal and influencing skills to support successful outcomes and promote a culture of collaboration, challenge, innovation, and creativity.

Qualifications
BA/BSc/BEng or MA/MSc/MEng or equivalent in a relevant discipline. Chartered or equivalent professional accreditation is recommended. Understanding of project management concepts, tools, and techniques is required. Awareness of programme software applications is advantageous.
