About the Role

We are seeking a Design Manager with experience in the Defence or Technology sectors to join the Design Project Management team within the Arcadis Places Design Practice. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the business end of design, guiding both internal and external design teams to meet client scope while balancing budget, resources, and timescales.

You will work closely with the Arcadis Project Manager to facilitate meetings and workshops, identify design and project risks throughout the lifecycle, and coordinate design activities with procurement, planners, environmental, construction, and operations teams. Your role will be key in driving high-quality design decisions by promoting collaboration, challenge, innovation, and creativity across the delivery team. You will also manage the technical delivery and integration of multi-disciplinary design projects, providing leadership, direction, and delivery excellence.

Strong interpersonal and influencing skills are essential to engage positively with clients and stakeholders, and to support successful project outcomes in a dynamic environment with changing priorities. Knowledge of project management concepts, tools, and techniques is required, along with the ability to understand and solve complex multi-disciplinary engineering challenges.

Experience
Previous experience within the Defence and/or Technology sectors is desirable. Ideally, you will have prior Design Management experience within a Client or Consultancy environment. Knowledge and experience of BIM-led design and Autodesk suite of products is important. Experience with programme software applications and strong stakeholder and communication management skills are essential.

Qualifications
BA/BSc/BEng or MA/MSc/MEng or equivalent in a relevant discipline. Chartered or equivalent professional accreditation is recommended.
