About the Role
We are excited to be growing our UK Places cost management capability. Places is one of Arcadis’ core Global Business Areas, focused on creating, improving, and sustaining the built environment where people live, work, learn, and connect. Our Places GBA typically works across buildings, property, regeneration and development, cities and urban environments, mixed-use and commercial schemes, education, healthcare, public sector estates and planning, design, and project delivery.

You will manage the delivery of cost management in small to medium developments or significant components of larger cost management assignments. The Senior Cost Consultant will take a leading role in delivering cost management services across major projects and programmes in the UK. Working within the Places Commercial Management team, the role involves regular site-based engagement (typically 2–3 days per week), close collaboration with contractors and client teams, and responsibility for ensuring consistent, accurate and high-quality commercial outcomes.

You will be responsible for managing several workstreams or significant elements of larger programmes, applying strong technical capability, sound professional judgement, and effective stakeholder management to support successful project delivery.

Key responsibilities include coaching and developing team members to share knowledge and improve service delivery, working within established financial systems and budgets to produce reports, forecasts and track budgets, delivering small to medium cost projects or significant components of larger assignments, providing advice on risk management and compliance, presenting project risks or issues to senior managers, analysing data to provide advice and recommendations, and sharing knowledge to assist service improvement and innovation.

Experience
Proven skills and experience supporting technically complex projects or programmes of work typically ranging in size and scope. Experience coaching and mentoring junior colleagues and demonstrating emerging leadership skills. Experience working closely with external stakeholders to build client relationships and managing business relationships at senior-management level. Capable of leading projects from inception to completion.
