About the Role
In this role, you will lead the strategy, development, optimisation and governance of Balfour Beatty UK's digital learning ecosystem, ensuring learning technologies and digital solutions enable workforce capability, skills development and business performance. Acting as the organisation's subject matter expert for learning technologies, you will own the performance, roadmap and continuous improvement of the Learning Management System (LMS), Learning Experience Platform (LXP) and associated learning technologies. You will leverage learner insight, analytics, automation and emerging technologies, including AI, to enhance the employee learning experience and maximise business impact.
You will lead the strategy for the development of a digital learning ecosystem including LMS and future LXP solutions. Leading through your team, you will maintain governance processes, standards and quality controls for digital learning content and learning technologies. You will ensure all compliance, mandatory and role-specific learning requirements are effectively deployed, monitored and reported across Balfour Beatty UK.
Optimising organisational reporting, dashboards and analytics relating to learning compliance, learner engagement and platform performance will be a key focus. You will work with content owners to support innovation in digital learning content, retire out-of-date digital learning and explore opportunities to align learning content with current thinking.
You will ensure learning content remains accurate, current, compliant and aligned with organisational requirements. Quality assurance processes for digital learning content, including accessibility, consistency, branding and user experience standards, will be maintained. Supporting audit, assurance and regulatory requirements through robust learning governance and reporting processes is essential.
You will lead operational relationships with LMS providers and external learning technology suppliers and support the development of business cases, requirements gathering, procurement activity, vendor evaluation and delivery planning for future LMS/LXP solutions. Staying informed of developments within the digital learning industry, you will identify opportunities to leverage artificial intelligence, automation, personalised learning and emerging technologies.
Collaboration with colleagues responsible for eLearning development will ensure learning content and technology platforms work seamlessly together. You will support projects related to digital capability, learning experience design and wider workforce development initiatives. Ensuring digital learning solutions meet accessibility standards and provide an inclusive learning experience for all employees is a priority.
Providing high-quality consultancy and support to stakeholders, managers and learners regarding learning technology and digital learning services will be part of your role.
