About the Role
As an Emergency Planning and Business Continuity Officer, you will play a key role in helping the Council prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies. Working as part of the Emergency Planning and Business Continuity team, you will support the delivery of the Council's resilience programme, ensuring compliance with the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, associated statutory guidance, the Resilience Standards for London, and other relevant legislation and best practice.
You will support the Emergency Planning and Business Continuity Manager and deputise where required, helping to ensure the Council meets its statutory resilience responsibilities. This will include developing and reviewing emergency and business continuity plans, delivering training and exercising programmes, providing professional advice to services and partners, and supporting the Council's response to incidents and emergencies.
Please note that the successful candidate will be required to be office based at least 2 to 3 days a week.

Experience
Experience in emergency planning, business continuity, resilience, civil protection or a related operational role, ideally within local government, the public sector or a similar organisation. Experience working collaboratively with colleagues and partner organisations to strengthen organisational resilience and supporting the development and implementation of plans, policies and procedures.

Motivated and organised professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Capable of building effective relationships, providing professional advice, and delivering training and exercises to a range of audiences. Able to manage competing priorities, work effectively under pressure, and contribute confidently to the Council's response during emergencies, demonstrating sound judgement and the ability to communicate complex information clearly and appropriately.
