About the Role
As an Endoscopy Decontamination Technician, you will be responsible for receiving, inspecting, dismantling, cleaning, disinfecting, and distributing medical devices, ensuring quality at every stage. You will handle all Endoscopes, Cystoscopes, and Ureteroscopes within the department using aseptic techniques and operate automated endoscope washers, dryers, and other machinery. You will ensure raw material stock is rotated correctly and out-of-date stock is not used, assist with periodic stock checks, and maintain a clean, tidy, and safe work environment. Accurate completion of paperwork and data input into departmental computer systems, including the endoscope tracking system, is essential. You will provide professional and helpful customer service, contribute to maintaining and developing the department's reputation, and participate in training, development, and appraisal activities. The role requires adherence to departmental procedures, Health & Safety legislation, Quality Management System standards (BS.EN.ISO 9001:2000), and HTM 0106 guidelines for flexible endoscope decontamination. Flexibility to work across Trust or customer sites and to adapt to service developments is required. Additional duties commensurate with the grade may be assigned.
Experience
Experience in medical device decontamination or a similar healthcare environment is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.

Good communication skills and a professional attitude when dealing with customers and colleagues are required. Qualifications
No specific qualifications are required; however, a willingness to learn and adhere to strict protocols and guidelines is essential. Training will be provided to ensure compliance with HTM 0106 and Quality Management System standards.
