A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an operational manager to join the Integrated Local Services (ILS) directorate as a Service Manager (SM) on a 12-month secondment. The role involves operational and strategic management within a team of eight Service Managers, covering clinical teams including Palliative Care and Community Heart Failure.

The Service Manager is accountable for the day-to-day delivery of services to patients, ensuring agreed objectives, targets, quality standards, and resource constraints are met. The role includes delivering delegated service improvements, supporting senior management, leading directorate-wide service improvement projects, collaborating with local partners from Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham Local Authorities, optimising the new EPIC EHR system, and designing innovative data dashboards for performance management.

ILS is a large directorate within Integrated and Specialist Medicine (ISM), encompassing a wide range of services such as Amputee Rehabilitation, Assistive Communication, Adults with Learning Disabilities, Community Rehabilitation, Heart Failure, Palliative and End of Life Care, Tissue Viability, and many more.

Experience
- Proven operational management experience with a track record of inclusive leadership and staff management
- Experience working within multi-professional teams and collaborative working with internal and external stakeholders
- Evidence of managing successful projects and operational performance improvements, including development and monitoring of output and outcome measures
- Experience managing complex budgets from multiple income sources
- Operational experience in service design, development, implementation, and change management in a multi-professional environment

About you

- Ability to use initiative and find innovative solutions to problems
- Ability to motivate and coach staff and manage HR processes effectively
- IT literate, competent in MS Office programs, especially Excel
