About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for ten Family Practitioners to join our Early Help Service within Starting Well – MASH & Family Intervention/Early Help & Targeted Family Support. You will work passionately with children and families to provide targeted, individual, and group interventions aimed at improving outcomes.

The primary purpose of this role is to work alongside social workers and partner agencies to deliver tailored support and interventions based on the identified needs of families. This includes intensive work with children in care, those on the cusp of care, or stepping down from statutory services, always promoting positive and healthy outcomes while ensuring safeguarding.

Our approach is systemic and family-centred, focusing on fitting the system to the family rather than the family to the system. Through collaborative ongoing conversations with children, young people, and families, we aim to deliver the most effective interventions and sustainable positive outcomes.

Duties include managing a caseload of families with multiple needs, conducting whole family assessments, working directly with children and young people to ensure their voices are heard, facilitating parenting workshops using programmes such as NVR (Non-Violent Resistance), collaborating with adolescent safeguarding services, and attending visits and meetings across the borough and occasionally nationally. You will also be responsible for maintaining performance standards and participating in regular supervision and skills development.
