About the Role
Join the Technical Accounting team at BBC Studios as a Finance Business Analyst, providing expert accounting guidance across a complex international business. Working closely with the Group Financial Accounting Manager, you will support statutory reporting, advise on technical accounting matters, and help ensure compliance with IFRS, UK GAAP and reporting requirements. This key role influences accounting decisions, strengthens financial controls, and supports the delivery of high-quality financial reporting across BBC Studios.
Our Technical Accounting team sits at the centre of BBC Studios' finance function, partnering with stakeholders across the business on a wide range of accounting and reporting matters. Your key responsibilities and impact include:
- Preparing subsidiary statutory financial statements across the BBC Studios Group, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and deadlines
- Acting as a key contact for technical accounting queries, providing guidance on complex transactions and the accounting implications of commercial decisions
- Reviewing and analysing month-end, quarterly and year-end financial results, reconciliations and balance sheet positions to support a robust control environment
- Supporting Group reporting activities, including year-end submissions, external reporting requirements and audit processes
- Assisting with monitoring and analysing foreign exchange exposure, hedging activity and related reporting
- Delivering technical accounting training and guidance to finance teams as accounting standards and legislation evolve
- Supporting the maintenance and development of accounting policies, processes and controls to ensure ongoing compliance and best practice
Experience
- Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
- Strong technical accounting knowledge including IFRS and UK GAAP, with the ability to apply accounting standards in a practical commercial environment
- Experience preparing, reviewing or analysing statutory financial statements and associated disclosure requirements
- Strong understanding of consolidation principles within a multi-entity or international group environment
- Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills, able to explain complex accounting issues clearly to both finance and non-finance audiences

Qualifications
- ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional accounting qualification
Desirable but not required
- Experience supporting technical accounting matters within a large, complex organisation
- Knowledge of foreign exchange accounting, treasury activities or hedging arrangements
- Experience working with SAP S/4HANA, BPC, Workiva or similar finance systems
- Experience liaising with external auditors and supporting year-end audit processes
- Interest or experience within the media, broadcast, production or television industry
