The Financial Analyst will support the Financial Management team within the Finance Department. This role involves assisting Finance Managers in producing Management Accounts for Clinical Directorates and supporting Budget Holders. You will also contribute to the wider Financial Management team through the Month End process and completion of ad-hoc projects. This position is ideal for those looking to advance their finance career and gain a broader understanding of NHS financial management.
The role focuses on generating budget reports, investigating variances, and ensuring appropriate actions are taken. You will regularly liaise with budget holders to provide analysis, support forecasting, and communicate financial information effectively. Advanced spreadsheet skills and a good working knowledge of accounting sub-systems are essential. The role encourages active development of your skills and career progression.

Experience
Substantial experience working in an accounting department with demonstrable financial management experience is essential.
Qualifications
Educated to at least AAT certificate level, degree level, or equivalent experience. Significant progress towards completing a CCAB qualification is required.
Skills
- Advanced spreadsheet/Excel skills
- Good working knowledge of accounting sub-systems
- Understanding of accounting accruals, provisions, and balance sheet accounts for stock accounting
- Knowledge of costing methodologies for services
- Ability to prepare statements of budget and actual performance from a trial balance
