St Thomas’ has one of the largest critical care units in the UK and one of the busiest emergency departments in London. It is also home to Evelina London Children’s Hospital. Evelina London cares for local children in Lambeth and Southwark and provides specialist services across south east England including cardiac, renal and critical care services. We lead a number of specialist service networks aiming to ensure children are treated locally where possible, but have access to specialist expertise when they need it. Our community services include health visiting, school nursing and support for families of children with long-term conditions. Our adult community services teams deliver care at the heart of the local communities we serve, working in partnership with GPs, local authorities and other healthcare and voluntary sector organisations. Working with our partners in Lambeth and Southwark, we are focusing on new ways of working to improve care for local patients. In February 2021 the Royal Brompton and Harefield joined Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, bringing together world-leading expertise in the care and research of heart and lung disease. Our merger provides a once in a generation opportunity to build a lasting, world-renowned heart and lung centre, providing the highest quality care for patients and conducting world-leading research. We have a reputation for clinical excellence and high quality teaching and research. We are part of King’s Health Partners, one of eight accredited UK academic health sciences centres. In partnership with King’s College London we have dedicated clinical research facilities including an MHRA accredited Phase I clinical trials unit. Job overview The Head of Account Management will lead the account management function, as well as hold a portfolio of a number of large strategic NHS accounts. They will build key relationships at senior and board level, working with trusts and Integrated Care Boards and Systems across London and beyond to promote the work and services of NHS LPP in order to demonstrate the value that we can deliver for our NHS members. The post holder will develop and lead on implementing a customer engagement strategy with a vision set by the Executive Customer Director, as well as the wider NHS LPP executive team and Steering Board. Main duties of the job The Head of Account Management is responsible for organising regular meetings with key stakeholders, members and customers, including opportunity assessments, problem solving, negotiations, service performance and delivery. Responsible for developing a high performing account management team, including delivering growth targets, agreed with Executive Customer Director and being responsible for team and individual development.Accountable for ensuring the account management team develop and implement growth plans, engagement key performance indicators with the Executive Customer Director and then manage performance thereof. Refine processes to monitor performance, manage workloads, and drive their team to continue to identify opportunities to support our NHS members. Working for our organisation As an organisation NHS London Procurement Partnership (NHS LPP) has been hosted by Guy’s and St Thomas’ (GSTT) NHS Foundation Trust since 2012. While the trust provides the legal framework and supporting services under which NHS LPP operates, we are a membership organisation funded and governed by our members. NHS LPP staff however are employed by GSTT. NHS LPP develops and manages collaborative procurement on behalf of its members including acute, community and mental health trusts, as well as CCGs across London and beyond. Detailed job description and main responsibilities Responsible for devising and implementing engagement procedures and account management strategies for customer’s management. Responsible for creating business plans that achieve wider targets. Evaluate the internal planning processes and initiate improvements. Contribute to the design and dissemination of the relevant QA policies and procedures Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria Highly developed specialist knowledge acquired through in depth experience and a Master’s degree or equivalent experience/qualification, or significant formal training in business/ account management in addition to short courses and experience. Extensive experience and expertise in Business Development and Account Management equivalent to post graduate level Desirable criteria Member of Chartered Institute of Marketing or Chartered Institute of Sales Management or equivalent Experience Essential criteria NHS experience or evidence at a senior level of working in customer engagement in equivalent complex stakeholder environments Evidence of developing successful revenue growth and engagement strategies Skills Essential criteria Ability to develop strategy and translate it into action.
