About the Role
Guy’s and St Thomas’ is among the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts, providing a full range of hospital and community services for people in south London. We are recruiting for 2x Band 8C posts on a 12-month fixed term/secondment. The post holder will be a senior leader within their programme, responsible for delivering improvement and transformation focused on some of the organisation's most important functions and priorities. Specifically, these roles will be aligned to either the pathology improvement programme or one or more productivity programme workstreams, including Ambulatory transformation, Corporate Services & Admin, Theatre productivity, and Patient Flow. The post holder will lead teams to scope, plan, deliver, and measure change initiatives, working across departments and organisational levels to influence and inspire. They will also work with external partners where needed, bringing in expertise and colleagues from across the organisation to support delivery.
Experience
Extensive experience of designing and delivering improvement work and programmes, training programmes in continuous improvement methodology and programme management in large complex organisations, preferably in a health care environment. Highly developed knowledge and extensive experience in scoping improvement methodologies, developing implementation plans, and tracking progress and benefits. Significant experience working across multiple organisations to secure change and a proven track record of overcoming obstacles to change.
About you
Uses advanced analytical and judgement skills, applies excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and is confident presenting to large groups. A credible opinion former with strong influencing skills, able to negotiate deliverables and timelines at all levels of the organisation. Self-aware and self-motivated; proactive and able to work with flexibility and adaptability.
Qualifications
Education to Master's degree or equivalent level of knowledge and experience. Relevant post-graduate qualification in a relevant discipline. Evidence of continuing professional development. Desirable qualifications include programme management qualification (MSP) and formal qualifications in six-sigma or Lean methodologies.
