About the Role
Help Brent to manage and grow its low carbon heat networks. Brent is a vibrant London borough known for its diversity and contrasts across economic, environmental, ethnic, and social aspects. The council is undergoing a transformation agenda to better meet community needs, making this an exciting time to join us.
This role offers the opportunity to be part of a new team managing and delivering low carbon heat networks in the borough. Brent currently operates over 2,000 customer heat connections, projected to exceed 4,000 by 2028. Heat networks are key to achieving the council's net zero ambitions.
The post holder will ensure Brent Council achieves and maintains compliance with Heat Network Regulations, including consumer protection requirements, technical standards under the Heat Network Technical Assurance Scheme (HNTAS), and Heat Network Zoning requirements. You will lead on strategic, policy, and operational workstreams relating to heat networks owned by or providing heat to Brent Council.
Experience
Proven track record in developing and implementing effective policies and processes, preferably within a housing context. Experience working with cross-functional teams, technical consultants, and contractors is essential. Confidence in navigating local government requirements is required.
