About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Principal CIL S106 Infrastructure Officer to join our dynamic and growing Infrastructure Planning Team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to Brent’s ambitious programme for inclusive regeneration and growth that benefits businesses, residents, and communities.
At principal level, you will supervise career grade officers and lead the collection and processing of Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) income and Section 106 (s106) financial and non-financial contributions. You will provide proactive advice to colleagues and applicants on s106 obligations, CIL, infrastructure, planning applications, and pre-application enquiries.
You will establish and improve effective S106 and CIL processes, reconcile accounts, and manage the transfer of MCIL collected on behalf of the Mayor of London. Working closely with the Infrastructure Planning Manager, you will help develop a new Infrastructure Delivery Plan to prioritise and deploy S106, CIL, and other capital investments to deliver infrastructure that supports development and growth for new and existing communities.
This permanent role is based at Brent Council’s award-winning offices in Wembley Park, within walking distance of Wembley Park station. It is an excellent opportunity for an experienced planner or someone with an equivalent background and qualification to further their career in a diverse and fast-changing borough.
Experience
- Proven experience in infrastructure planning and supervising staff
- Comprehensive knowledge of s106 and CIL legislation, regulations, and infrastructure planning policy
- Experience in partnership working between public and private sectors to deliver infrastructure projects
