About the Role

Brent Council is committed to reducing all forms of homelessness and rough sleeping, supported by funding from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government for a full-time Rough Sleeper Navigator position. As a Rough Sleeper Housing Officer, you will act as a single point of contact for rough sleepers, working in a person-centred way to achieve sustainable housing outcomes. You will provide robust housing advice and support, collaborate with partner agencies, and develop personalised housing plans focused on homelessness prevention. The role requires comprehensive knowledge of homelessness legislation, policy, and procedures to offer innovative advice and solutions for complex cases. Experience
Experience working with vulnerable populations, particularly those with a history of rough sleeping, is desirable. Knowledge of homelessness legislation, policy, and procedures is essential. Experience in multi-agency collaborative working and housing support is highly valued.

You are empathetic, motivated, and naturally caring with a passion for delivering excellent services to vulnerable rough sleepers. You can work well under pressure, manage a busy workload, prioritise effectively, and maintain high standards of customer care. You are a fast learner, willing to undertake training on relevant legislation and apply it confidently with support. You have a strong interest in supporting individuals to develop skills for sustaining tenancies and living independently.
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications in housing, social work, or related fields are advantageous but not mandatory. A commitment to ongoing professional development and training will be supported.
