About the Role
We’re looking for a skilled Heating Installation and Wet Works Engineer to join our in-house team at Camden Council. You will play a vital role in keeping Camden’s homes safe, warm, and energy-efficient. Your responsibilities will include installing and commissioning boilers, heating systems, hot water cylinders, radiators, and controls. You will also carry out remedial works and reactive repairs, ensuring all installations comply with legislation, regulations, and Camden’s high standards.
You will work directly with residents, explaining systems clearly and supporting them to use their heating efficiently. This is hands-on, meaningful work where your skills will have a real impact every day.
Key duties include installing and commissioning domestic heating systems including pipework and controls, completing remedial works and minor making good, carrying out system testing, flushing and certification, providing excellent resident support and guidance, maintaining accurate records and compliance documentation, delivering some reactive repairs when required, and working closely with colleagues across housing, planning, and compliance.
You will also keep up to date with emerging renewable technologies, such as air source heat pumps, to support Camden’s sustainability goals.

Experience
- At least 5 years’ experience in heating installation and wet works.
- Strong knowledge of domestic heating systems and safety standards.
- Experience producing accurate reports and documentation.
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
- Great communication skills with the ability to support residents in a clear, respectful way.
- Experience in social housing, knowledge of water regulations, or training in renewable heating systems is advantageous.

Qualifications
- City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Gas Engineering (or equivalent).
- ACS qualifications: CCN1, CENWAT, and UVHW.
