About the Role
As the Housing Needs Review & Improvement Manager, you will lead Camden Council’s housing review service, overseeing statutory reviews and legal challenges under Parts 6 and 7 of the Housing Act 1996. This strategic leadership role involves representing the Council in court, liaising with legal teams, and ensuring decisions are legally robust and compliant.
You will manage and develop a team of review officers, champion service improvement, and shape policy in response to legal precedent and resident feedback. Working closely with legal services, housing teams, elected members, and the ombudsman, you will lead on data analysis, training, and quality assurance to strengthen delivery across the housing service.

Experience
Substantial experience in housing, homelessness, or legal services with strong knowledge of Parts 6 and 7 of the Housing Act 1996 and related case law. Proven leadership experience including managing staff, guiding performance, and improving service standards.
Confident in representing the Council in legal proceedings and producing high-quality written decisions.

Ability to train others on good practice and champion service improvement.
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications or demonstrable experience in housing, legal services, or related fields are desirable but not explicitly stated.
