About the Role
We are looking to appoint an ICT Technician to join the central IT team at the Harris Federation, a leading education charity with 51 primary and secondary academies across London and Essex. The Federation educates approximately 38,000 young people and is committed to closing the gap between children from disadvantaged backgrounds and their peers. The central team provides vital support across multiple departments including finance, HR, data, estates management, and talent development, ensuring the smooth operation of all academies.
Your key responsibilities will include providing outstanding IT support and managing IT projects for staff and students across the academies. You will log, investigate, and resolve IT support requests within agreed SLA timeframes, or escalate where necessary. You will image, deploy, and maintain Windows 10 PCs, laptops, tablets, Apple Macs, iPads, and peripheral equipment such as scanners, printers, interactive whiteboards, and projectors, ensuring all hardware is tested and ready for use. You will install and test new software and updates, ensuring compliance with licensing regulations. Additionally, you will support on-site infrastructure elements including physical and virtual servers and networking devices to maintain network availability and security. Administration of user login accounts, distribution and security groups will also be part of your role, ensuring appropriate access for staff, students, and trainee teachers.
The role offers the opportunity to work within a highly successful multi-academy trust, contributing to the administration and operational development of its IT services in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
