About Camden
Camden is changing on the inside to make life better for everyone. Our residents and communities are at the heart of everything we do. We’re home to the most important conversations happening today and we’re making radical social change a reality, so that nobody gets left behind. Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all.
What You’ll Be Doing
We have a big vision for Housing Services where we will work deep within our neighbourhoods and communities to improve our services with people who use and rely on them. We are looking for five Income Officers with motivation and a caring approach to help deliver this ambition. You will be providing a person-centred housing income collection service across the borough, which includes being responsible for income collection for Camden’s housing stock, managing the process from early intervention and debt prevention to initiating possession proceedings, preparing legal documents, attending court, executing warrants, and overseeing evictions. Your role will also involve responding to customer inquiries regarding housing income, identifying opportunities for early intervention to prevent arrears, and processing payments over the phone.
Experience
We require an Income Officer with specialist knowledge in dealing with unlawful occupancy cases and another Income Officer with specialist knowledge of Universal Credit.
About you
We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic about our ambition to make Camden the best place to live and work. Above all, you will be passionate about ensuring that services are delivered in a relational way, with the best outcomes for residents at its heart. You are dedicated to early intervention, proactively helping residents to prevent issues and guiding them to supportive services. Understanding that safeguarding is everyone's responsibility, you take an active role in protecting residents' health and well-being, ensuring they live free from harm and abuse. Your communication style is kind and compassionate, focusing on building positive relationships within the community and addressing diverse needs. You champion equality, diversity, and inclusion, respecting various cultural backgrounds and promoting engagement among residents and stakeholders. Working collaboratively with other teams, you embody the 'One Camden' ethos, ensuring that residents are at the heart of all efforts while maintaining clear and accurate records. You are adept with housing management software and have a solid understanding of housing policies and legislation. Financially aware, you make decisions that promote efficiency and effective budget management.
Qualifications
Relevant experience in housing income collection and a strong understanding of housing policies and legislation are essential.
