About the Role
The Financial Times (FT) is a globally recognised news organisation known for its authority, integrity and accuracy. FT Longitude, the FT’s specialist thought leadership agency, is seeking an Influencer Relations Executive on a four-month fixed-term contract. This role offers the opportunity to work at the heart of global thought leadership, identifying and engaging senior executives and leading experts to contribute to research and content for some of the world’s biggest brands. You will work across a diverse range of business topics and industries, from corporate finance and sustainability to AI and the future of work.
Key responsibilities include sourcing and researching interview candidates, managing communications and scheduling, building and maintaining candidate pipelines, and preparing briefing notes for FT editors. You will also help grow the FT Speakers Network by developing relationships with executives, experts and PR contacts for future research and engagement opportunities. The role involves close collaboration with colleagues across Research, Editorial, Project Management and the wider FT.
This position provides exposure to senior business leaders and global organisations while developing skills in research, relationship management, communications and thought leadership. You will have the chance to contribute ideas to improve qualitative research processes and help shape the future of FT Longitude’s qualitative research capabilities.
Experience
Strong desk and online research skills with the ability to quickly understand unfamiliar industries and topics. Experience in research, PR and communications, executive search or recruitment, events, journalism or community management is desirable but not essential.
About you
Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills with confidence in approaching senior executives and PR teams. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Proactive problem solver with the ability to identify relevant organisations and experts and build targeted contact lists. Comfortable using social media, professional networking platforms, databases and project trackers. Interest in leveraging AI and digital tools to improve research and outreach efficiency.
Qualifications
No formal qualifications are specified; however, a proactive attitude, strong communication skills and research capability are essential.
