About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of a best-in-class Insurance service that will serve as a centre of excellence for Camden Council. The role is responsible and accountable for managing a portfolio of claims from both internal and external customers with varying levels of complexity.
You will actively support the Council’s risk management philosophy by promoting best practices in managing risks, recognising that insurance is not the sole solution to protecting the Council’s activities and assets.
The post holder will act as a vital link to services by providing insurance and risk advice based on lessons learnt from previous claims and incidents, enabling informed risk-based decision making.
You will deputise for the Insurance Manager and Senior Insurance Officer and lead on insurance development projects as required.
Experience
Proven experience in managing complex insurance claims and providing risk management advice. Experience in investigating and negotiating settlements is essential.
About you
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to produce reports and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Confident in providing guidance and support across the organisation and in decision making. Ability to lead projects and deputise for senior management when required.
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications or experience in insurance, risk management, or a related field are desirable. A commitment to continuous professional development and a proactive approach to learning are essential.
