Evelina London cares for local children in Lambeth and Southwark and provides specialist services across south east England including cardiac, renal and critical care services. We lead a number of specialist service networks aiming to ensure children are treated locally where possible, but have access to specialist expertise when they need it. Our community services include health visiting, school nursing and support for families of children with long-term conditions. Our adult community services teams deliver care at the heart of the local communities we serve, working in partnership with GPs, local authorities and other healthcare and voluntary sector organisations. Working with our partners in Lambeth and Southwark, we are focusing on new ways of working to improve care for local patients. In February 2021 the Royal Brompton and Harefield joined Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, bringing together world-leading expertise in the care and research of heart and lung disease. Your role will manage the delivery of a particular workstreams designed to progress the transformation programme’s integration priorities. This role will oversee the Nurse Integration Facilitator role and ensure alignment across nursing integration is delivering to agreed integration plans. The team will have the required seniority, autonomy and governance to enact and deliver change and integration in line with the unified vision for the directorate with two key components: • The CRIC Directorate will be recognised as the UK’s leading provider of cardiac, respiratory and intensive care services for children and young people, speaking with one voice for the benefit of patients and staff. • To co-locate CRIC inpatient services on the Evelina London site for the long term. The Integration Matron for the CRIC Transformation and Integration team will have the key responsibility to ensure that the patient experience is of the highest quality inspiring patient and public confidence. This will be achieved through high visibility, accessibility and surveillance. Closing date: 22/09/2024 Interview date: 01/10/2024 Main duties of the job Your initial areas of work are likely to include: working with clinical teams to develop and deliver benefits and value projects; leading the development of projects and sub-groups within clinical workstreams (inpatient, outpatient and support) and project managing workstreams to develop future models of care. There will be ample opportunity to work on several different aspects of the programme and/or pursue further development opportunities, and you should be willing to work flexibly and adapt as the programme priorities evolve. You will be contributing to a learning system and exploring interests through research and publication are strongly encouraged. The successful candidate will have a track record in project management, business management, transformation and/or improvement and strategy. You will have excellent problem-solving and communication skills, and will understand different perspectives and manage through situations outside of your control. You will be a self-starter with exceptional drive and self-motivation, a team player, and have an ability to respond to changing demands and the high paced nature of the programme. You will be adept at forming excellent working relationships with a range of clinicians, patients, academics and other stakeholders across the organisation. Detailed job description and main responsibilities Duties and Responsibilities · Project manage programme workstreams and sub-workstreams. · Communicate complex, sensitive and contentious information on the progress of the projects and programme to key stakeholders · Liaise with centres of excellence and expert advisory groups and ensure that the projects reflect current good and evidence based practice. · Facilitate meetings of clinicians, managers, patients and other partners to agree priorities and action plans. · Support consensus building and manage conflict or opposing views whilst encouraging participation from all involved. · Proactively problem-solve and negotiate where issues arise in the development and implementation of the projects. · Develop reports or information relevant to the programme, communicating through for example service events, displays, exhibitions, local newsletters, website and local events, liaising closely with the communication managers. · Develop and use presentations and reports effectively at local and public events to raise awareness of the work, as required. · Develop, review and disseminate materials and resources as required. · Lead for all queries relating to the postholder’s portfolio of work. · Ensure the approach to all project workstreams takes account of diverse needs and is culturally sensitive and equitable. · Work autonomously across multiple professional, organisational and system boundaries and proactively plan, develop and sustain new partnerships and networks to influence and improve health outcomes and healthcare delivery system. · Inform and develop relevant pathways of care and related guidance and protocols to improve models of care. · Lead nursing and other clinical teams in establishing and maintaining effective communication channels with multi-disciplinary team, patients, their carers and external agencies. Person specification Qualification and Knowledge Essential criteria First level registered Nurse. A Masters level qualification in nursing or equivalent training and experience Broad clinical experience relevant to the post. A proven track record of operational service management at a senior level in an acute hospital environment, including staff management, financial management and change management Experience Essential criteria Demonstrable previous success in leading and delivering change and performance with and through clinical teams, by engaging them in the strategic direction and delivery plans, establishing clear work priorities with them, delegating effectively, ensuring a capability to deliver, monitoring performance and giving feedback. Proven ability to analyse complex problems and to develop and successfully implement practical and workable solutions to address them. Ability to think and plan strategically, tactically and creatively, and to prioritise work programs in the face of competing demands. Desirable criteria A confident and demonstrable track record in using quantitative, qualitative and financial information to inform delivery planning and in monitoring performance, and particularly associated with clinical quality. A strong sense of personal and team accountability coupled to a clear understanding of the boundaries around delegated authority.
