Job overview This is a wonderful opportunity to join a newly formed waste management team at Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and be part of a team with increased emphasis on Sustainability and Innovation. The role will also support the Trust Waste Manager in achieving targets as set out both internally and externally through NHSE and other outside agencies.# The role, jointly with the Trust Waste Manager, will fulfil an NHSE recommendation to have qualified waste managers at ALL NHS Trusts. As such the post holder will be required to undertake the necessary training courses to achieve this aim. These should be completed within 12 months of being in post. Main duties of the job Assist the Trust Waste Manager in ensuring that all waste streams are correctly segregated, collected, stored and transported in a safe manner and in accordance with relevant guidance and legislation. Have an awareness of new innovations within the waste industry to introduce changes where possible. To include innovations that will assist the Trust in achieving its sustainability goals. Undertake internal audits of all areas (both clinical and non-clinical) to ensure that waste is bring correctly segregated. Assist the Trust Waste Manager in delivering training to staff of all levels and disciplines.
