About the Role
Join Camden's dynamic Legal Services team, where you’ll play a critical role in breaking down barriers while embracing a risk-aware approach. You will engage with senior officers and Members to offer high-quality legal services, focusing on social justice. Collaborate closely with various service directorates to ensure efficient delivery of Council priorities, managing a personal caseload that includes high-profile and complex cases. Become a trusted advisor, advocate, and problem solver as you contribute to Camden's vision of innovative, responsive legal solutions.
We are particularly seeking lawyers with knowledge in the following areas:
- Homelessness/Part 7 Housing Act
- Building Safety Act/Fire Safety Act and other related legislation and requirements in relation to local authority building safety and regulatory compliance
Experience
Proven experience in local government law with hands-on experience preparing cases and drafting legal documents. Experience managing challenging and complex cases is essential.
About you
You are a qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives able to practice in England. You possess a robust understanding of local government law and demonstrate professional confidence in leading on challenging cases and providing high-level advice. Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit enable you to engage effectively with clients and stakeholders. You are proactive, creative, and committed to shaping the future of legal services in Camden.
Qualifications
Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives with the right to practice in England.
