About the Role
As a Maintenance Technician at Greystar, you will contribute to delivering an exceptional resident experience by working closely with the Community and Estates Management teams. Your role involves carrying out high-quality repairs, maintenance tasks, planned and unplanned works, and ensuring statutory compliance of building fabric and mechanical and electrical systems. You will inspect and diagnose faults, undertake minor repairs and decoration to buildings, grounds, and equipment, and maintain excellent communication with residents, clients, contractors, and colleagues.
Key responsibilities include managing maintenance tasks via the electronic reporting system, Onesite, providing regular updates to residents, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring all communal areas are kept to the highest standards of repair and cleanliness. You will perform repairs across multiple trades including plumbing, joinery, carpentry, painting, decorating, and lighting, or coordinate contractor repairs when necessary. Health and safety compliance is paramount, including reporting incidents, conducting internal planned preventative maintenance such as PAT testing, emergency lighting and fire alarm tests, and fire evacuations.
You will also liaise with Capital Projects and Operations teams, monitor subcontractor performance, assist with site security, maintain gardens and grounds, and review site risk assessments. The role requires a flexible approach to work and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
Experience
Proven experience undertaking repairs and maintenance in a domestic residential environment or as a general builder/residential construction trades such as plumber, electrician, or carpenter. Experience supervising contractors and suppliers is desirable.

Reasonable general education to O’ Level/GCSE or equivalent with strong written and numerical skills. Awareness of health and safety requirements on site. A helpful, friendly personality with professional and courteous communication skills. Strong team player with relationship building and influencing abilities. Positive, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise. Flexible and adaptable to change. Computer literate with fluent English verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications
A recognised trade qualification such as Building Crafts Operative Certificate, City and Guilds, or NVQ relevant to repairs and maintenance in residential buildings is essential.
