About the Role
The Maintenance Technician will play a key role in delivering an exceptional resident experience by working closely with the Community and Estates Management teams. You will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of repairs, maintenance tasks, planned and unplanned works, and ensuring statutory compliance of building fabric and mechanical and electrical systems. Duties include inspecting and diagnosing faults, undertaking minor repairs and decoration to buildings, grounds, and equipment, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety throughout the community. You will also manage maintenance records, monitor contractors, and ensure all works are completed efficiently and within budget. This role requires effective communication with residents, clients, contractors, and colleagues, promoting customer satisfaction through regular updates and professional service delivery. You will be expected to maintain adequate stock levels, coordinate external contractors, and assist with key management and security tasks. Health and safety compliance and risk assessment reviews are integral to this position, alongside ensuring communal areas and grounds are well maintained and hazard free.
Experience
- Proven experience in repairs and maintenance within a domestic residential environment or general building/residential construction, including trades such as plumbing, electrical, or carpentry
- Experience installing and maintaining hot and cold water systems, sanitary appliances, soil and waste drainage
- Experience with electrical systems, fire alarm, emergency lighting, and security systems
- Contractor and supplier supervision skills are desirable

Qualifications
- Reasonable general education to O’ Level / GCSE or equivalent with demonstrable written and numerical skills
- Recognised trade qualification such as Building Crafts Operative Certificate, City and Guilds, or NVQ relevant to residential repairs and maintenance (e.g. plumbing or electrical)
- Awareness of health and safety requirements on site
- Commitment to continuous improvement of knowledge, skills, and abilities
