Full Time - 36 hours per week

Salary
£46,006 - £52,329 dependent on experience, plus Social Work England fee reimbursement and 5% AMHP Allowance (if applicable). Newly qualified social workers will be appointed at Level 3 Zone 2 grade (£42,221) during ASYE, progressing to Level 4 Zone 1 (£46,006) upon completion.

About the Role
Join the London Borough of Camden, rated Outstanding by the CQC Assurance framework, as part of the new Mental Health Social Work Team within Adult Social Care. This role offers the opportunity to work in an integrated setting alongside health, social, and voluntary service colleagues to provide high-quality, community-based mental health social care and support. You will manage your own social care workload, responding to crises and safeguarding vulnerable adults by recognising and acting on signs of harm, abuse, or neglect.

Using Camden’s strength-based “What Matters” approach, you will support individuals with various mental health diagnoses, focusing on recovery, trauma-informed care, and core social work values. The role involves both short-term interventions to address immediate concerns and developing long-term relationships to help individuals and their support networks maintain good mental health and build meaningful lives.

This post requires an Enhanced DBS check and is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. There are opportunities to coordinate Mental Health Act assessments and participate in Camden’s AMHP Duty Rota, with AMHP training available if not already qualified.

Experience
Qualified Social Worker with suitable qualifying experience. Experience working within mental health social care and knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and current mental health legislation is essential.

Registered with Social Work England. Able to assess situations, determine severity, and take appropriate action based on professional knowledge and experience. Committed to promoting and embedding a strengths-based approach to social work within a collaborative and reflective team environment. Willingness to complete AMHP training if not already qualified.
