About the Role
As an MSO Engineer at IMG Studios, you will provide technical support for all studio productions at Stockley Park. This role involves operating key equipment on the studio floor or in the production control room (PCR), often in a live environment. You will work with cameras, sound, vision, lighting, or replay systems depending on your operational experience and expertise. Responsibilities include preparing equipment for studio operations from rig through to derig, assisting the Studio Technical Manager with wrap and closing down procedures, maintaining and caring for equipment, and supporting live operations across the facility including vodcast, TX playout, gallery, or studio. You will also assist freelance studio crew with IMG kit and processes when required, and build effective working relationships with production teams and colleagues. Compliance with all IMG studio Health and Safety policies and promoting a positive safety culture is essential. This is a 6-month fixed-term contract reporting to the Live Operations Supervisor with no direct reports.
Experience
Previous experience in a multi-skilled technical operations role or significant experience in at least one area of technical operation in studio production. Experience working in a live studio environment is essential. Good knowledge of broadcast equipment and systems including cameras, sound, vision, lighting, graphics, post-production, media management, MCR, and playout is required. Familiarity with ETC Ion lighting boards, Lawo audio desks, Reidel talkback, Sony vision mixers, EVS XT3 LSM, Sony HXC-100 camera systems, GV AMPP, Live U Studio, Stream deck, and OBS is desirable.
About you
Operational expertise in at least one technical area of studio production such as cameras, vision, lighting, sound, or replay. Strong understanding of health and safety regulations within the studio environment, including legislation for working at height, manual handling, noise, electricity at work, and risk assessment processes. Ability to work effectively in a live, fast-paced environment and collaborate with diverse teams.
