About the Role
IMG, a leading global sports marketing agency and subsidiary of TKO Group Holdings, is building a new broadcast headquarters at One Chiswick Park: a greenfield, software-defined, IP-first facility producing and delivering live sport 24/7. The Senior Network Engineer will join the network function at the centre of this build, helping commission the new estate through the project phase and then owning its day-to-day engineering as part of the run team.
The role bridges traditional networking and modern NetOps practice in an automation-first environment where every device is modelled in a NetBox source of truth, configuration is deployed from code through pipelines, and streaming telemetry feeds the observability stack. Changes are expected to land in days, not months, in a facility where the network carries live content around the clock.
The network estate includes dedicated SMPTE ST 2110 media networks with PTP timing, EVPN/VXLAN leaf-spine fabrics, a lossless fabric for emerging media-exchange and compute workloads, enterprise-class firewall estates, and a DWDM dark fibre WAN with dedicated cloud interconnects.
The Senior Network Engineer will work alongside the systems integrator during the build, collaborate with broadcast and corporate teams daily, and act as a senior escalation point for operations. This role suits engineers from broadcast, media, ISP or carrier backgrounds who want to build a modern network from scratch and then run it.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabric and media network engineering including core routing and switching (BGP, OSPF), EVPN/VXLAN overlays, VRF-separated services, routed access
- Operate ST 2110 media networks with SMPTE 2022-7 protection, PTP timing discipline, and NMOS control
- Maintain advanced multicast (PIM-SM with anycast RP, IGMPv3, scoped boundaries) for media and encoded distribution
- Manage capacity, firmware and hardware lifecycles; plan upgrades without service impact in a 24/7 facility
- Maintain NetBox as the authoritative source of truth for infrastructure documentation
- Build and run automation pipelines for configuration deployment using Python, Ansible, and Git
- Develop monitoring using streaming telemetry, flow analysis, and modern tools (Grafana, Zabbix)
- Lead the shift from manual workflows to automated NetOps
- Operate WAN edge eBGP across diverse DWDM dark fibre paths with BFD; support live service delivery planes
- Manage dedicated cloud interconnects and hybrid workflows
- Hands-on management of firewall estates, network hardening, and security telemetry aligned to group policy
- Support lab validation, commissioning, and migration of live services to One Chiswick Park
- Act as Level 3 escalation point and mentor engineers across broadcast IT and operations teams
Experience
- Advanced TCP/IP, switching and routing (BGP, OSPF) in production environments
- Operating EVPN/VXLAN leaf-spine fabrics
- Advanced multicast protocols in production (PIM-SM with anycast RP, IGMPv3)
- Network automation using Python and Ansible with Git-based workflows
- Infrastructure documentation and management using NetBox or similar IPAM/DCIM platforms (NetBox preferred)
- Modern monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Zabbix, ELK, streaming telemetry and flow analysis
- Operating and securing enterprise firewall estates (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco)
- Firmware lifecycle management for network devices
Advantageous
- Broadcast media networks knowledge: SMPTE ST 2110, PTP timing, SMPTE 2022-7, NMOS
- Real-time transport protocols: RTP, UDP, SRT, RIST, Zixi; error correction methods (FEC, ARQ); video encoding awareness (AVC, HEVC, JPEG-XS)
- Experience with lossless fabrics (RoCEv2/RDMA, PFC/ECN) and media-exchange workloads
- Optical and WAN technologies: DWDM, dark fibre, optical link budgets, circuit diversity
- Vendor platforms: Arista EOS (CloudVision, AVD), Cisco NX-OS (Nexus Dashboard)
- Version control and project management tools such as GitHub, Jira, ClickUp
About you
- Excellent communication skills, able to articulate complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure in a live broadcast environment
- Proactive, organised, self-motivated with a strong problem-solving mindset focused on automation
- Collaborative team player with leadership and mentoring capabilities
