About the Role
Guy’s and St Thomas’ is among the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts, providing a full range of hospital and community services for people in south London and specialist care for patients from further afield. The South East Genomic Medicine Service (SE GMS) seeks a motivated Network Coordinator to join our team and contribute to the delivery of SE GMSA's Networks of Excellence. This is a 6-month maternity cover. The NHS launched eight Genomic Networks of Excellence (NoE) in January 2024 to provide a world-leading NHS Genomic Medicine Service (GMS). The Genomic AI Network of Excellence will integrate NHS genomic medicine, AI development, and research to accelerate AI adoption in NHS genomic services. This is an exciting time to join the team as genomics advances in multiple medical areas, delivering better and faster patient outcomes. The post holder will have a meaningful impact in NHS genomic services, working on programmes of significance.
Main Duties of the Job
The Network Coordinator will play a pivotal role in providing essential project and business coordination for the exciting Genomics AI Network of Excellence. Responsibilities include supporting the organisation of events, coordinating a diverse array of projects, and helping to establish a vibrant Genomics AI community across England. The role will also explore patient and public trust in the use of AI within Genomics and identify barriers to the adoption of AI solutions, ensuring all network activities are designed and delivered in a patient-centred way.
Working for Our Organisation
The national NHS Genomic Medicine Service consists of seven Genomic Laboratory Hubs (GLH) and seven Genomic Medicine Service Alliances (GMSA) across England. The South East GMS comprises the South East GLH and South East GMSA, covering South London, Kent, Surrey, and Sussex. Our goal is to reduce unwarranted variation and improve patient outcomes by integrating genomic advances into clinical care.
Experience
Evidence of supporting successful project and/or operational performance and improvement, including the development and monitoring of output and outcome measures.
About You
Effective people skills including effective communication skills both written and verbal, including formal presentation skills, influencing, and negotiating. Organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, meet deadlines, and delegate effectively. Ability to find innovative ways of solving or pre-empting problems.
Qualifications
Relevant previous experience in project coordination or operational roles.
