About the Role
Are you ready to make a difference in the quiet hours of the night? We’re looking for a Waking Nights Specialist Support Worker to join our OFSTED regulated service, supporting young homeless people aged 16-18 with high support needs. In this role, you will safeguard wellbeing, encourage positive relationships, and support each resident’s journey towards independence, while ensuring the safety, calm, and security of our service overnight.

A typical night starts with a handover from the day team before preparing for the night ahead. You will carry out building checks to ensure a safe environment, address tenancy issues such as smoking or noise, and be available to respond to emergencies. You may host activities like film nights to build community spirit, but you will also be prepared to de-escalate challenging situations, offer emotional support, and ensure all residents feel safe.

Why Join Us?
When you join Peabody, you become part of a team guided by our values: Be Kind, Do the Right Thing, Love New Ideas, Celebrate Diversity, Keep Our Promises, and Pull Together. We are committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels supported, included, and empowered.

What We Offer
- 25 days’ annual leave
- Two paid volunteering days each year
- Flexible benefits scheme, including family-friendly options and discounts
- 4x salary life assurance
- Up to 10% pension contribution
- Comprehensive training and development

Important Information
This role requires an enhanced DBS check. You must be eligible to work in the UK and able to work the full contracted hours of 37.5 hours per week. Visa sponsorship is not available, so only candidates meeting these criteria will be considered.

- Experience working with vulnerable young people aged 16-18 in social housing, education, or the charity sector, focusing on development and personal growth.

- Experience managing challenging behaviour and maintaining professional boundaries while remaining approachable and providing constructive support.
- Thorough and up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding and trauma-informed care.
- Good IT skills, experience managing a complex caseload, strong report writing skills, and effective time management.

About You
You should be committed to supporting young people through challenging circumstances with empathy and professionalism, able to maintain calm and safety overnight, and motivated to contribute positively to a supportive community environment.
