This role involves carrying out secretarial and administrative duties to provide an efficient and effective medical administration and secretarial service to the Respiratory Medicine care group/division. You will support designated consultants, junior medical staff, and the multidisciplinary team by facilitating patient appointments, admissions, and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include answering telephone queries, acting as the first point of contact for patients and the public, liaising with outpatient departments and external agencies, managing clinical and non-clinical correspondence, scheduling procedures, and supporting service development and resource management within the division.
The majority of work is undertaken using the EPIC system, and knowledge or experience of this system would be advantageous. You will also provide cover for other medical secretaries and undertake additional duties as required by the line manager.
