The Patient Pathway Coordinator will work within the Diagnostic Centre admin team, scheduling appointments for NHS and private patients for various diagnostic tests in line with waiting time guidelines. This role involves direct communication with patients and staff at all levels, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality, and maintaining professional relationships with internal and external departments.

The post holder will lead on tracking patient pathways, working closely with clinical and managerial staff to ensure timely treatment and achievement of national targets. The role supports a range of Trust-wide specialties and provides high-standard administrative support on a day-to-day operational basis.

Main duties include greeting patients, coordinating appointments, managing patient records, supporting diagnostic teams, assisting with data collection and audits, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment, and providing administrative support to radiographers and consultants. The role also involves monitoring patient care pathways, planning multi-disciplinary meetings, participating in audits, and escalating issues related to waiting times and patient care.

The role requires adherence to Trust policies including confidentiality, information governance, equal opportunities, health and safety, infection control, risk management, safeguarding, sustainability, and smoking policy. The post holder will contribute to department development and participate in training as required.

Requirements

Experience
- Previous administrative experience within the NHS or private healthcare setting.
- Experience with electronic booking systems.
- Understanding of NHS waiting time targets.
- Desirable: Experience working within diagnostics or imaging departments and familiarity with EPIC system.

- Detail-focused with accuracy in routine and repetitive tasks.
- Punctual, conscientious, and calm under pressure.

Qualifications
- Good general education with English and Maths to GCSE standard or equivalent.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
- Evidence of formal further training in administrative practices.
- Desirable: IT package qualification (e.g. ECDL) and customer service training/qualification.
