About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for those looking to develop their experience and skills in administration. We are seeking a highly organised individual who can prioritise a busy workload in a demanding environment and perform well under pressure. The Patient Pathway Coordinator will serve as an integral point of contact for the multi-disciplinary team, patients, and service users, providing in-depth knowledge of outpatient journeys for multiple sub-specialities. This role is crucial for the efficient running of day-to-day activities within the unit. The post holder will need to understand cancer wait times and will be required to work cross-site at both Guy's and St. Thomas' hospitals.
Experience
Essential criteria:
- Significant proven experience of delivering to high standards in a fast-paced, high-volume customer care environment.
- Ability to deal with a range of issues independently and efficiently.
- Proven administrative experience.
- Understanding of Cancer Wait Times.
Desirable criteria:
- Experience of an administrative role within the NHS.
- Experience of supervising staff.
- Understanding of Teledermatology.
About you
The ideal candidate will possess strong IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office packages (Word, Outlook, Excel), and have excellent organisational and time management skills to meet deadlines. You should have excellent interpersonal skills, enabling effective communication with a wide range of multi-disciplinary staff, and the ability to deal tactfully with the public while maintaining patient confidentiality.
Qualifications
Essential criteria:
- Good general education with English and Maths to GCSE standard or equivalent.
- Educated to diploma level or NVQ 3, City and Guilds certificate level in business administration or equivalent.
- Evidence of formal further training in short courses, with significant experience in hospital administration.
Desirable criteria:
- Customer services qualification/training.
- IT training package qualification/training, e.g., Microsoft Office.
