About the Role
Guy’s and St Thomas’ is one of the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts, providing a full range of hospital and community services across south London and specialist care for patients from further afield. The Trust includes leading centres such as the largest dental school in Europe, a £160 million Cancer Centre, Evelina London Children’s Hospital, and extensive community services. In 2021, the Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals joined the Trust, creating a world-renowned heart and lung centre.
The Patient Transport Receptionist role is key to ensuring patients receive exemplary customer service within the busy Patient Transport Department. You will provide high quality administrative support including reception duties, customer service, typing, managing the Trust’s Cleric system for patient arrivals and departures, and general administrative tasks. You will often be the first point of contact for the department, requiring a calm, patient, friendly, and professional manner.
Our patient transport service supports patients who cannot travel to or from hospital by other means due to medical or mobility conditions. The service covers Guy’s and St Thomas’ sites including renal and cancer services. The team is large, busy, friendly, and committed to continuous improvement, operating under ISO9001 standards with positive external audit results.
The Trust is committed to providing safe, high quality care and values the diversity of its staff and patients. We support flexible working arrangements to promote a healthy work-life balance and encourage applicants to discuss individual circumstances during the recruitment process.
