About the Role
Guy’s and St Thomas’ is among the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS foundation trusts, providing a full range of hospital and community services for people in south London, as well as specialist care for patients from further afield. The Population Health Hub (PHH) at Guy’s and St Thomas’ is a pioneering team redefining care for our communities. We are seeking a skilled professional to lead our research and evaluation function, shaping how the Trust understands and improves population health, equity, and services through data-driven insights and system collaboration. You will design and manage mixed-methods evaluations, ensure robust governance, and work closely with clinical teams, analysts, academics, and community stakeholders. This role offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of improving population health in one of the UK’s most diverse communities, contributing to delivering better outcomes, equity, experience, staff wellbeing, and value.

Requirements

Experience
Demonstrated experience of UK health service research, including managing health service or complex intervention evaluations. Highly competent in qualitative research methods and analysis, particularly in workshop and focus group discussion facilitation. Demonstrated experience of writing grant proposals and peer-reviewed publications.

About you
Masters degree or equivalent experience and professional development in Epidemiology, Public Health, Population Health, Medical sociology, medical anthropology, health psychology, health economics or a closely related subject. Ability to work with NHS professionals in evaluating and contributing to policy recommendations is desirable.

Qualifications
Competent in quantitative research methods and analysis, with a demonstrable knowledge of statistical software packages, such as STATA, SPSS, SAS and R. Desirable knowledge includes logic models, theory of change processes and quality improvement approaches.
