We are currently seeking a Principal / Senior Hydrologist to join our Water Management division. This role involves leading technically demanding and diverse projects across the UK, working closely with key regulators such as the Environment Agency, infrastructure providers including Network Rail and National Highways, Local Government, and private developers.
As part of the team, you will set the technical direction for hydrological studies, estimate design flood flows and hydrographs, provide technical input into flood risk management and water resource projects, and oversee the production of flood risk assessments and Environmental Impact Assessments (Water Resource Chapter). You will manage project components, coordinate team members, ensure quality assurance, and contribute to the development of yourself and others. Collaboration, proactive thinking, and innovation are fundamental to this role.

Experience
- Proven ability to apply hydrological methodologies such as the Flood Estimation Handbook
- Experience leading and carrying out flood risk assessments, Environmental Impact Assessments, and preparing Environmental Statements
- Demonstrable track record in Quality Assurance procedures
- Competent in the use of ArcPro and QGIS
- Experience in report writing
- Experience in team and line management
- Desirable: Experience in water resource assessments
- Desirable: Experience with Surface Water Management Plans and SuDS

Qualifications
Degree in an appropriate analytical subject such as Civil Engineering, Geography, Environmental Science, Water Resources, or Engineering Hydrology.
