St Thomas’ has one of the largest critical care units in the UK and one of the busiest emergency departments in London. It is also home to Evelina London Children’s Hospital. Evelina London cares for local children in Lambeth and Southwark and provides specialist services across south east England including cardiac, renal and critical care services. We lead a number of specialist service networks aiming to ensure children are treated locally where possible, but have access to specialist expertise when they need it. Our community services include health visiting, school nursing and support for families of children with long-term conditions. Our adult community services teams deliver care at the heart of the local communities we serve, working in partnership with GPs, local authorities and other healthcare and voluntary sector organisations. Working with our partners in Lambeth and Southwark, we are focusing on new ways of working to improve care for local patients. In February 2021 the Royal Brompton and Harefield joined Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, bringing together world-leading expertise in the care and research of heart and lung disease. Our merger provides a once in a generation opportunity to build a lasting, world-renowned heart and lung centre, providing the highest quality care for patients and conducting world-leading research. Job overview King's Health Partners Programme Manager - Partnerships and Programmes Band 8a 12 month fixed term contract or secondment Main duties of the job The post holder will lead the programme management of KHP Academic Surgery. The Programme aims to: Facilitate outstanding surgical science collaborations; Support hybrid surgical and implementation trials; Inspire students aspiring to exciting surgical careers; Improve education for the next generation of surgical trainees Responsibilities include: - oversight of monthly Grand Rounds, supporting the clinical lead, and facilitating engagement events. - collaboratively designing and delivering KHP Executive Fellowship in Academic Surgery programme - a twelve-month executive fellowship programme which aims to teach leadership as the process of implementing positive change in dynamic, volatile or complex environments. In addition the post holder will lead on a portfolio of supporting projects and programmes including but not limited to supporting our 17 Clinical Academic Groups, supporting networks across KHP, providing project management for collaborations related to our priority areas of personalised health, health digital and data science and population health. Working for our organisation The post holder will be part of a team of approximately 60 individuals working within King's Health Partners programmes and partnerships. The Partnerships and Programmes team is made up of 6 individuals who support activity across the programmes and within our partner organisations. The team manages a portfolio of projects including Clinical Academic Group development, Academic Surgery, a programme of educational webinars for primary care, and a value in health professional development offer. The team manages key external partnerships including those through our membership of the European University Hospital Alliance. Detailed job description and main responsibilities The post holder will be responsible for managing the development and delivery of projects and programmes within Partnerships and Programmes. This will involve working with a wide range of stakeholder organisations including but not exhaustive - patient and public representatives, local Healthwatch organisations, GP practices, community services, public health teams, mental and acute trusts, voluntary sector providers, and local authorities, as well as academics and national / international expert partners (including the European University Hospital Alliance). The post holder will be responsible for designing and leading projects to develop the overall programme, including supporting other team members in the development, implementation and monitoring of work streams that support the delivery of the overall programme. Performance management and cross-system reporting of the programme is of vital importance, given the complex stakeholder environment.
