About the Role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Project Coordinator to join our outstanding Major Projects team working on the Old Oak Common development in London, part of the largest construction project in the UK. The new c. £1 billion Old Oak Common station will become the UK’s best-connected rail station once completed. Our Balfour Beatty VINCI SYTRA joint venture is responsible for the final design, construction, and commissioning of the station in Northwest London. Upon completion, the station will feature six underground platforms and up to eight platforms on the adjacent Great Western Main Line. It will provide high-speed rail services to the Midlands, central London, Scotland, the North, and direct connections to three major airports. Incorporating passenger and retail facilities, the station will offer an exceptional customer experience for passengers and visitors alike.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing strong working relationships with key stakeholders
- Ownership of end-to-end processes such as order placing, ensuring governance compliance
- Performing general administration duties
- Producing reports for the management team
- Building relationships with the Supply Chain
- Reporting operational issues to relevant departments (e.g. plant breakdowns)
- Identifying problem areas, agreeing corrective actions with stakeholders, and ensuring implementation
- Ensuring documentation is stored in line with project requirements
- Administering the project Document Control System for the Self Delivery function – ALIM

Experience
Experience with procurement systems is essential. Previous exposure to project management or business administration environments is highly desirable.
About you
You will have strong communication skills to effectively manage stakeholder relationships, alongside excellent planning and organisational abilities to deliver operational excellence and efficiency. A proactive ‘can do’ attitude to problem solving and a willingness to seek support when needed are important. Attention to detail with a focus on ‘Right First Time’ delivery is required. Strong computer skills are essential.
Qualifications
Project Management or Business Administration qualification (or working towards) is required.
