About the Role
Mace combines construction expertise with consultancy to unlock potential in every person or project and redefine the boundaries of ambition. As delivery partner on the Ministry of Justice’s Capacity Programme, Mace’s team has supported the MoJ estate for over a decade, successfully delivering a wide variety of high-quality projects across the MoJ prison portfolio. This role is part of one of the largest Mace programmes of work, working alongside an alliance framework contractor and an established professional team, incorporating the latest modern methods of construction and standardised processes.

This is a great opportunity for a Project Manager to join a new Aftercare service within the growing Strategic Integration Team, which focuses on continuous improvement, consistency, collaboration, and knowledge sharing to support both client and Mace colleagues across the MoJ portfolio. The role primarily focuses on the aftercare period of projects, blending coordination of post-completion tasks with developing process improvement and standardisation initiatives to benefit the wider MoJ programme and beyond.

Working with good levels of autonomy, you will employ a strong “finisher/completer” mindset to manage post-completion defects and tasks through to conclusion. You will act as an internal and external consultant, ensuring collaboration and knowledge sharing to deliver measurable change through initiatives that bring continuous improvement and consistency in delivery.

Key responsibilities include ensuring quality systems are managed in line with service excellence, delivering and managing project plans from inception through design, procurement, and construction phases, and supporting senior project managers and wider teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage communication with stakeholders, assist in developing client briefs and delivery strategies, and lead design management, procurement, and execution.

You will also produce strategic project programmes, scrutinise and integrate consultant and contractor programmes, manage risk and mitigation strategies, coordinate meetings, drive procurement of services and works, and manage contract suppliers under NEC4 contracts. Managing interfaces across multiple projects to optimise programme efficiencies and site completion, as well as handling pre-contract design development and post-contract scope changes efficiently, are also key aspects of the role.

This role offers exposure to a dynamic consultancy environment with opportunities to add lasting value and work on a unique variety of scopes within a supportive team culture.
